Pāte de Fruit is a jelly candy made from fresh fruit lightly sweetened with a little bit of sugar. Originally from France, it's pronounced "pot deh froo-ee," but if you say it wrong, we won't hold it against you! We make ours in the traditional square shape with a light dusting of pure cane sugar. The strong fruit flavors come entirely from the natural flavor of the fruit, with no artificial flavorings. Because we use fruit pectin for consistency (instead of gelatin), vegetarians can enjoy our pāte de fruit without compromising their diet. Our pāte de fruit are the results of a years-long development process that uses fruit purées instead of a pre-mixed jam, as used in many inferior recipes. This makes a delicate fruit flavor that is not too sugary; a subtle flavor that makes each piece a "candy for adults!" Each hand-cut piece is bite-sized, so you can taste several kinds without being overwhelmed by the intense flavors. Excellent with a glass of wine, brandy, cognac or a cup of coffee.
